Does anyone else have the feeling that solutions for simple projects are often overloaded?

Somehow I had the feeling that many projects were heavily overloaded, so every possible change request can be resolved taking into account the fact that emerging change requests are very difficult to implement.

Somehow I get this feeling in almost every project that I am currently working on. This is similar to what everyone thinks: “What a cool api, framework, etc. You can add to a project to solve this and this aspect”, without assessing how practical or necessary it is.

Does anyone else feel the same or what is the community opinion here?
