Delphi 2007 Pro - the best way to connect to SQL Server

I usually use Delphi-oriented databases for most of my work (usually NexusDB, lately), but still have bad memories of how painfully the slow connection (and publishing) to MS Access was through ADO. I have a new project that you might need to configure for MS SQL Server. What is D2007 Pro, what is the way to connect to MS SQL Server? (Third-party components = fine if this is the best route).

Devart offers dbExpress components and drivers for accessing SQL Server databases. There is also UniDAC , which also supports other databases.

Da-soft AnyDac supports SQL Server and other databases.

Bob Swart posted Delphi to develop Win32 VCL Database on Lulu if you need help.

TADOConnection is really not that bad. Access was never intended to create an RDBMS. ADO is much faster with SQL Server than with Access. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/225048 for some reason.

DevArt db .

SDAC ( sql) UniDac ( Sql, Oracle, MySql, PostgreSql Interbase/firebird)

if you do not need advanced components that access specific sql server functions, such as TMSChangeNotification, TMSTransaction or TMSServiceBroker, then you can go with UniDac so that your application is designed to work with several databases.
