I have a space without text, it looks like an image, it has a background and padding. But it does not execute the onclick event. What to do? Do I need to explicitly change the range to everything else?

There is no need for spaces or anything else, its work is excellent without any changes, it was bad!

Make sure something is inside the range, for example:

<span>&nbsp;</span>

As far as I know, if you want its background to be visible, you need to set the width and height for the range. And at least you need to include a space within the range
