What is the period of time that the window manager waits before marking the window as not responding?

How long do windows wait before making a decision that does not respond to requests and causes unresponsive chrome? I just think that in XP and Vista they are different from each other, since DWMs are handled differently in Vista and Explorer in XP. XP /

An application is considered not to respond (or hang) if it does not respond to Windows messages in five seconds, and the user tries to interact with the application.
