Prevent progressive mp3 downloads?

I am looking for some solutions for creating an mp3 player in flash; one of which either uses streaming or obfuscation to prevent users from downloading the original mp3. If I used a server / solution using RMTP: would this prevent booting? Are there any possibilities for using the Amazon S3 server to serve files, but the actual file URL is hiding?

No, RTMP will not prevent direct downloads - if the user can find out the direct URL, then they can still download the file. I do not know about S3, but I used streaming servers such as Red5, and I know that you can directly download MP3 content from it, and therefore it is reasonable to protect your server so that people do not view indexes, etc.

URL obfuscation is an opportunity, as you suggest, as well as renaming on the fly. You can transfer the GUID to the client, and then on the server copy MP3 to a directory with a name similar to that GUID. The client is downloaded from this location, and then the copy is deleted. This, of course, puts a higher load on the disk on the server, but I just throw the idea in the interests of brainstorming. :)
