When I go to work (in London), I see a lot of redevelopment in commercial buildings. One of the first things I noticed was that they knock down an old building and build from scratch. They end up building some of the most advanced and amazing to look at buildings.

Outdated code is code that works. Rebuild only when you need to.

One thing I've learned over the past 10 years, the “old terrible horrible code” is what makes the world go round. Brilliant, pretty code exists only in textbooks or toys, and just being someone else is enough to take the shine off of the best code.
