How to request a print queue in Windows

Question

We are developing a critical application and should have better control over printed documents. To make sure which documents are printed or not, we want to check the queue for the printer.

How can we request a print queue in Windows (status, queue list, errors, ...)?

EnumPrinters to get a list of printers, EnumJobs to get a list of jobs for this printer. GetJob to get information about a specific task and SetJob to change the settings for this task (pause or cancel).
