I think this is an absolutely unique stack overflow question. First, a little background:
I was asked to write a new graphical interface on top of the BRCAPRO (brack-a-pro) calculation engine. BRCAPRO implements a Mendelian computing model based on BayesMendel software. The BRCAPRO calculation is used by doctors and surgeons specializing in cancer treatment to show patients:
- The likelihood of cancer diagnosis based on their genetics and family history.
- Change in life expectancy based on the different forms of treatment and / or the age at which these treatments begin.
I have done enough research to know that BRCAPRO formulas are too complex to be reasonably implemented in my own code.
There is a well-known, well-known (cancer) CancerGene software package: http://www8.utsouthwestern.edu/utsw/cda/dept47829/files/65844.html . This program is very old, runs on Windows 95 and includes computational mechanisms for several forms of cancer that my client does not work with. Ideally, my client would like his application to run on the Internet so that he can easily share information with other doctors.
My task is to adopt the CancerGene application, which is built on the BRCAPRO engine, and:
- Duplicate 90% of its functionality
- Delete unnecessary features
- Change report output
- If possible, make a web interface
Now my question is:
- , BRCAPRO? Googled API . , BayesMendel R, , BRCAPRO. R.
, BRCAPRO. , , .
- , -
CancerGene . , , BRCAPRO . , BRCAPRO , , . , BRCAPRO, /Windows.
