Does every product need its own domain?

We are starting a new project in which I work, and one of the things in question is the name of the product. The rest of the company seems to attach great importance to an accessible domain name, for example. [Product] .com. I say that it does not matter how [the product]. [Companydomain] or [companydomain] / [product] are just as good and obviously affordable.

Am I talking nonsense? Is there a good argument for a domain with the name you want?

Marketing people love domains because it’s colder to print [product] .com in a brochure than [something] / [something] / [product]. Given that domains cost about $ 10 per year, this is not a big deal.

On the other hand, if your brand is already strong, [strongbrand] / [newproduct] might be better than [unknownproduct] .com. You could even combine the two; just get a new domain and redirect it to your company’s website (or vice versa).

I think it depends a lot on your company and the product you are creating. However, there is a big influence created by the product.com domain.
