We have a StarTeam view in which there are two files that are in the Unknown state - does anyone understand why they are in this state and / or how can we get them out of state?
Deletes them and re-adds them with a different name, the only solution?
Please note that if you check these two files (regularly or using "forced control"), they will always be listed as "Unknown" (annoying).
Thanks.
Further information based on Craig suggestions below:
a) Calculation of the file status using the MD5 checksum: the same results (status "Unknown")
b) These two files have only one revision on the server. I'm not sure if this is because our CM team tried to fix the problem by deleting and re-creating the files, or if there really was only one revision. Files are text files.
c) I tried to delete the files on my local machine and update the status. When I do this, instead of viewing the two files listed as "Unknown", I see a total of four files listed with a status of "Missing." Two entries are recorded for each file: each pair has the same file name, path to the folder, “changed” and “file stamp during registration”. I do not know why each file is listed twice. If I select each entry in a pair and select "Compare Contents", my diff tool says they are identical.
