Converting a console application to a Windows application in Visual Studio 2008?

I found this solution that works, but it's hard for me to believe that a solution to this problem does not exist with one click.

No, there is no "better" way. This is really the only way: (unless you create your own project converter).

This is the only way. You could, I suppose, edit the project files manually to add links, but I would stick with the IDE.
