Which web server to use for Oracle applications

Question

I am confused by J2ee web servers !! I downloaded the free Glassfish server from the sun, and then, as an Oracle developer, I downloaded the latest JDeveloper that comes with BEa / Oracle's Weblogic server. One is free, the other costs $ 1,000. Who cares.

I want to write a SOAP interface for my Oracle 10g database, can I get away with the Glassfish server, why should I use the Weblogic server and how is it different from the Oracle application server for J2EE applications.

As you can see, I am embarrassed, to say the least, and I will be grateful for any enlightenment. I am an experienced SQL PL / SQL developer, but new to Java, so you have a certain lack of knowledge in this area.

Personally, if you are looking for an open source J2EE application server, I would go with JBoss, if only because it has a much larger market share, which makes it much more likely that you can find people who can answer questions or perform a specific task, and published instructions.

Therefore, the use is very clear, the former will be used as an open source development environment, while the latter will be used as an enterprise-level server. However, it is better to use application servers, such as Jboss instead of Glassfish, in high-transaction, enterprise-level services. At least that's my preference.
