Excel Programming

Question

I would like to give my boyfriend a taste of programming. If it depended on me, I would teach Scheme, Haskell or F #, but since he would prefer to study what might be useful in his work as a financial consultant, that is, for programming Excel.

You can do a lot with VBA, perhaps more than anyone in finance who will ever want to do. I believe that VBA is designed specifically for such people, but usually it prints poorly. I think that if you, a programmer, taught your VBA boyfriend, he would develop some understanding of programming, and also would have to provide an extremely useful tool for working far ahead of everything that can be achieved by recording macros. It is also a very short step from VBA to VBScript.
