Can CArchive read and write from a specified location in a file?

I want to serialize and deserialize a list of objects to a file. But I found that if I use CArchive, the new content will overwrite the original content in the file, which is not my expectation. Is there a way to allow me to read and write from a specified location in a file? Thank!

CArchive has c'tor, which translates ptr to CFile. Perhaps if you transfer the file with the correct pointer at the current moment, it will do the trick.
