Is there a way to do the reverse upgrade using Subversion?

I have a branch in the SVN tree that contains the source for a third-party product. I need to update this branch with the latest version. If I check this and copy the new source on top of the old source, I can easily add new files and commit. However, I would also like to make sure that any files that are an old version but not a new version will be deleted.

Is there a way to tell SVN to update the repository from the directory?

There is a tool for this. It is documented in the Subversion Book , more specifically in the branch provider part .
