Lucene.net with IndexSearcher / IndexWriter in a web application

I am currently running Lucene.net in a web application and wondering about the best method for performance.

Currently, I have configured it so that all index entries are processed together in the planned process along with index optimization.

However, for search - I am currently opening and closing a search engine for a search that, as I know, is not perfect.

What do you think is the best approach in this situation?

I need to close and reopen the index search engine after processing the updates / optimization, so the planned process (which is the Windows console application) should pass it to the completed web application.
