How long have you cached resources on the client side?

Question

My site will host regular images, javascript, and CSS stylesheets in the database. Since they are unlikely to change every day, I'm going to use some client caching to reduce server load.

How long have you cached them? A few days? More?

I probably won’t reuse the same name twice if I update the resource, so I should not have obsolete data problems.

If you change your name when updating, then you have the luxury of caching forever. This is a big plus if you change the name to change.
