SharePoint Permission Tracking

Is there any out of the box system in SharePoint (i.e. MOSS 2007) that is useful for tracking / managing permissions. We have a relatively small installation, but I can easily see special permissions for special users / sites that get out of control. I hope there is something ready in SharePoint that helps, but if there is, I don’t know where.

If this is not possible in SharePoint, are there any third-party tools that people recommend?

If anyone is interested, I used SharePoint SUSHI in this . It has some useful “security reports” that meet my needs. Several other goodies were also added there. The best part of all this is for FREE. :-)

Unfortunately, I did not find anything good in my location in SharePoint to manage or track user rights. You always have the opportunity to customize. However, there are third-party tools. The best tool I have found for easy SharePoint management is Universal SharePoint Manager v2007.

There are several stellar tools for security analysis and permission information in this app.
