Anyone who uses a third-party Windows registry editor that they recommend to other users?

I work with the Windows registry editor (regedit.exe) on an almost daily basis, and sometimes I could find it better for myself.

For example, it would be nice if it were:

  • A way to import and export your favorites.
  • advanced search function, which lists all the keys found, rather than a simple search function. It would be great if there was a way to narrow the results as you type, but yes, I understand that I probably ask a lot.
  • list of keys that I recently accessed (history)

In fact, I'm just looking for a reliable third-party tool based on the existing regedit feature set. I am interested in both free and commercial solutions.

Previous developer recommendations have led me to discover great tools like Notepad ++ and RegexBuddy , so I look forward to hearing from you.

In addition to applications offered by others, you might consider learning a little about Windows PowerShell . The PowerShell registry provider allows registry access using a powerful scripting language, so you can use script solutions for some of your common problems.

These programs might be worth a look at:

I cannot vouch for them (I have not used them), but they can satisfy your needs.
