Memory cache compression

Question

Does anyone have experience using compression in cached data? I understand that stackoverflow internally uses this method.

What are the pros and cons?

And are there any mistakes?

Scott Hanselman just created a session wrapper class that can encrypt items before putting them in your cache / session / whatever. You can see!

you should try memcached. It is a distributed caching server that is easy to use and provides impressive compression capabilities.
