Background Icon on IE6

I am developing a site (using asp.net by the way) and I have a problem with IE6.

When I use some icons next to links, using the background image and the left margin on the links, the icons display fine on FF and Chrome, but in IE6 they take a kind of “gray” background, and sometimes flash is weird.

Any ideas? is there any CSS hack to solve this problem? Thanks everyone!
