How to define a font as symbolic in java?

I'm currently looking for an opportunity in Java to identify a font as symbolic, as OpenOffice does. Characters with Windings or Webdings, etc. Must display with the correct "images".

Does anyone know how to distinguish between regular fonts and character fonts?

A Java error does not display all the characters in a Windows character font; it gives a key to a trait that is unique to character fonts.

They are part of SYMBOL_CHARSET (WindowsCharsetName font.properties file)
