I am about to enter the 1st stage of developing an application for trading in goods. The main function of this application is the collection and evaluation of price information. Prices in this market are not fixed. This is usually a +/- premium market benchmark. For example: (A and B are market benchmarks)
- Price = A + $ 1
- Price = A +.5 (AB)
The final transaction price is calculated using the price formula applied within the agreed time. For instance; The final price may be the average value of A + $ 1 a week before the week and after loading the product.
Currently, traders record this detail in Excel, which allows them to flexibly customize the necessary formulas, but this information never gets into our accounting systems, and spreadsheets are not connected with live forecasts of market benchmarks, predicting price forecasting is a manual and slow task.
I am looking for information on what tools / methods I can use to enter, store and evaluate formulas in an application.
We will use SQL Server or Oracle as the database, and the client platform has not yet been fixed, but you can use WinForms / WPF, ASP.NET or Java webapp.
I know that this is a rather broad question, but we are not far enough to clarify which technologies will be used.
