Can someone tell me why I do not have all the studio windows available to me when developing on a 64-bit platform? I upgraded my dev desktop to a 2003 x64 server to fit our deployment platform. Since then (I am using VS2005) I noticed that several windows are not available. I cannot browse Processes (which is most annoying), so I donβt know which processes are attached to. I can attach a penalty to the process, but it will not show me that it is already working under the debugger. There are others, but this is the one that sticks out in my mind at the moment.
My question is, where are these limitations for development under 64-bit documented (if any)? (Of course, I also always warn about the "Edit / Continue" change, telling me that it does not work in the 64-bit version)
Also, is VS2008 better up to 64 bit?
Follow-up: My question seems a bit vague. I am developing a 64-bit application in a 64-bit development environment. "Recompile it in x86" does not solve my problems.
Follow-up # 2: I give him another shot. I WANT TO MAKE A 64 BIT PROGRAM FOR THE ENVIRONMENT 64 BITS AND I DO NOT HAVE ALL THE FEATURES OF THE VISUAL STUDIO. HOW TO GET THEM?
# 3: XP 64 ( 64- Server 2003), ( ..). -, Windows dev.
