Is there a name for this type of page navigation?

Just out of curiosity, is there a name for the navigation I worked on?

It looks like this:

<<first <previous 1 2 3 4 5 [...] 20 next> last>>

i.e. navigation, where you have x pages, but you don’t want to show x-links, you want to limit the amount of space used, so you display y-links at a time and indicate the presence of other pages with elizia.

At some point in the middle, it will look like this:

<<first <previous [...] 8 9 10 11 12 [...] 20 next> last>>

with permissions from both sides.

The answerer is just to clarify this question. I hereby declare that it does not have an official name.

I also create a name for it "remote breakdown".

Not sure what is called the regular version of this pagination scheme (if at all).

However, I came up with an improved version that can handle a very large number of pages (where ellipses (...) skip successively larger blocks of pages when you move away from the current page or endpoints).

I named my chart “Logarithmic Pagination” or “Logarithmic Navigation Page”.

You can find it (with implementation) in stackoverflow here .
