PHP based handheld applications

Are there any well-made web applications for writing technical / API instructions? I have some code that I want to write for the “getting started” guide, and possibly for some kind of reference content.

PHPDocumentor is great for documenting my class hierarchy, but I also want to put something together, it's a little more readable and linear. I believe that a common CMS will work fine or just something from scratch. But if there is something that was designed specifically for writing online tutorials, I would like to know more.

DocBook will be one way to write a guide, but I don't know about any CMS for it. I had my share in the work on PEAR, and so far I have always used a regular text editor to write / edit pages. I guess starting from scratch is harder.

If you need something more intuitive, try dokuwiki . It is quite small and lightweight and it works.

Also, keep in mind that phpdoc allows you to embed code samples, etc., so maybe look at this one too (for example: inline {@ example} ).

Most write their documentation on a wiki-like service. There is one in Google code, or you can install your own, such as MediaWiki or Trac.
