What is monitored and how should it be done?

What is tracking and how to do it?

I have a general utility that I include in my projects, and I want to get some output from it. I use log4net, but I probably do not have my shared utility library dependent on log4net. It makes sense?

Edit: Is there a correlation between logging and tracing? For some reason, would I like to put the trace and write into one thread?

Should I possibly replace the log4net part of Logger.Debug (..) Do I have in my projects with System.Diagnostics.Trace.WriteLine (..) s?

I agree with FryHard or better extend log4net with your custom classes.
