Install .NET 3.5 on a server with .NET 2.0 applications

I would like to upgrade my web projects on IIS 5 server from .NET 2.0 to .NET 3.5. These web applications live on a server with other web applications that will not be upgraded to .NET 3.5. The server administrator does not want to install .NET 3.5 because he is afraid that he will break the applications on this computer with 2.0 and 1.1.

As far as I know, this will NOT be a problem, since .NET 3.5 is in addition to 2.0 more than the new platform. I would like communities to help gather evidence in order to show him that their problems are controversial and that will not hurt other applications.

Thanks in advance.

3.5 .NET 2.0 web.config .

This, of course, breaks at least one application that I use. Removing 3.5 will return the files and fix the problem.
