Slicehost Installation Profile

I am not a UNIX guru, but I had to create a few pieces for various web projects. I used the articles there to configure users, the underlying firewall, nginx or apache and other bits and parts of the underlying web server.

I foresee more slicing management in the future. Is there a more efficient way to configure users, permissions, and software in a clean slice than manual configuration?

It looks like you can create a new fragment from a backup of an existing one. This may not work for you if the slices are of different sizes, different distributions, etc. Their forums mention this: Clone a slice?
