Shortcut Window for XFCE4

This is not a programming issue per se, but it is certainly about something that will help increase programming productivity.

In KDE, you can assign short cuts to specific windows. This completely eliminates alt-tabbing and is very convenient when opening several applications (browser, console, emacs, etc.). My question is: is it possible to shorten short windows in XFCE4? And if so, how? I recently switched to XFCE from KDE4 and would appreciate any help with this.

TIA.

I am using xdotool. For example, the command below moves Firefox to the forefront:

xdotool search --onlyvisible --name 'Mozilla Firefox' windowraise
