Getting started with the IDE?

By querying through emacs and vi for years and years at this point, I heard that using the IDE is a very good way to become more efficient.

To this end, I decided to try using Eclipse for a lot of coding and see how I am.

Are there any suggestions to facilitate the transition to the IDE. Obviously, some of them will think that none of this should bother, but I think that with Eclipse, which allows you to associate emacs-style keywords with code completion and built-in debugging, I think it's worth trying to switch to a more multifunctional one for more parts of my development.

So what are your suggestions to ease the transition?
