Website Hosting on Your Own Server

Is there a detailed guide that explains how to host a website on its own Linux server. I currently host it on one of the commercial web hosts. Also, the domain is registered for another provider.

This guide is probably more information than you actually requested, but there is web server information. This is Gentoo-specific, but you can apply the same information with minor translations to any other distribution.

XenoCafe contains an excellent article on setting up an Apache web server in a Linux window. View the article at the following link: http://www.xenocafe.com/tutorials/linux/centos/apache_web_server/index.php
