I talked with a few friends who say that Drupal is amazing, and it's better than Joomla. What are the main differences / benefits?
The general consensus is that programmers prefer Drupal, while mere mortals prefer Joomla. Joomla was praised for its simple user interface. (I personally disagree with this, I think Joomla UI is rather painful to use. But then again, I look at it through the eyes of a programmer.) Drupal, on the other hand, praised its high level of extensibility, as well as its vast library of high-quality (more or less) plugins that add functions ("modules" in the Drupal syllable), and many of them are extensible.
Start using Joomla today, and today you are likely to find yourself a decent, but not quite perfect website. Start using Drupal today and you can build exactly the website you need as soon as you post the time.
