How to determine if a given daylight saving time is appropriate for a given time zone in .NET 2.0?

I am on .NET 2.0, working under medium trust (therefore TimeZoneInfo , and the parameters are not allowed in the registry). I ask the user about two dates and a time zone, and I would really like to automatically determine if I need to set the time zone for DST.

This is probably not even a valid scenario unless I have very reliable support, aa TimeZoneInfo , to distinguish between all the different varieties of time zones in the first place.

@ Domenik , I thought, but I would prefer to remain legal, and I'm sure that the information should be embedded in the framework in any case, or captured from the registry in some hidden way that does not require permissions ...
