What types of executable files can be decompiled?

I think java executables (jar files) are trivial to decompile and get the source code.

What about other languages? .Net and all?

What languages can only be compiled for decompilation code?

In general, languages such as Java, C #, and VB.NET are relatively easy to decompile, since they are compiled into an intermediary language rather than into a pure machine language. In their IL form, they store more metadata than C code when compiling into machine language.
