How to add web link through proxy / firewall?

Question

I'm behind a firewall at work now, and I tested something that I deployed on my website, and the proxy seems to block it somewhat.

Basically I get the message:

The operation is invalid due to the current state of the object

I have this before the proxy server interference, but I don't see any additional settings or anything that I can configure to go through my proxy server to get to my service.

I made a quick google for this, but without joy.

Has anyone found a quick way around it?
