Using MySQL in Visual Studio 2008

Question

I use a connector ODBCto access MySQL db from Visual Studio 2008, and I ran into performance problems when working with crystal reports and to solve this I need a native connector for visual studio. If someone had a similar problem and knows the solution or tools (preferably free software), I would be very grateful.
