How to copy web farm content

Question

We have a Windows Server Web Edition 2003 web farm.

What can we use to process replication on servers for:

IIS content and configuration (application pools, virtual directories, etc.)

We will move on to Windows 2008 in the near future, so I think what options exist in Windows 2008 as well.

I would look into the Windows distributed file system . It must be supported by both Windows Server 2003 and 2008.
