Asp.net Reinstalling DLL in GAC

I'm trying to reinstall the DLL in the GAC, everything works fine, but the web application available to it still uses the old one.

The old DLL is the same version as the new one, with only minor editing, it will be used by 50 different sites, so changing the version and then changing the link in the web.config file is not a good solution.

Restarting the IIS server or workflow is not an option, as there are already 50 running sites that should continue to do so.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong or what can I do to fix this?
