Is GDI + a “usable” technology?

I'm just wondering if GDI + should still use the technology, especially in the sense of .net.

Of course, GDI + is still an image processing technology in Windows, but it is also unmanaged code (obviously). Now, having discovered that GDI + is not really supported on ASP.net¹, I just wonder: is it really possible to have image manipulation libraries that are fully executable in managed code? XNA does this if I remember correctly, although it uses a graphics card for this.

Perhaps there is even any .net image library that implements the look of managed GDI +?

This is still a technology worth using. There are many Windows Forms and unmanaged applications that use GDI + that either will not be updated or will be updated, but do not need more advanced rendering capabilities. GDI + is a good solution for older applications and for new applications written in Windows Forsm. Which is the main reason GDI + was not focused on Vista in favor of a fully DirectX solution.
