Our organization uses PRINCE2 for each project that we launch; IT is a significant part of our organization, but we are not a software home. Despite the fact that I appreciate that PRINCE2 is an excellent method of launching projects, and we had great success with it, I feel that it is quite a high level for complex software construction.
Can't you run an AGILE method, such as SCRUM, for everyday code creation and deployment under it or within PRINCE2?
Obviously, we have a number of qualified, experienced PRINCE2 practitioners in business, so I would never suggest replacing PRINCE2 with SCRUM, but I still see the benefits of SCRUM.
Anyone have any thoughts? In practice, these two contradict each other or complicate each other? Does anyone have personal success stories? What about other methodologies? Can we let PRINCE2 take care of high-level materials and then launch another method to develop nuts and bolts?
