The best way to learn SQL Server

So, I get a new job working with databases (more precisely, Microsoft SQL Server). I know nothing about SQL much less than SQL Server. They said that they will train me, but I want to take the initiative to learn about it on my own, to be in front. Where is the best place to start (textbooks, books, etc.)? I want to learn more about SQL moreso than any of the fancy dots and clicks.

If you plan on coding the sql database using .NET, skip ADO and go directly to Linq. You will not miss anything.

Oh, also, Joe Selco. If you see his name in an article or book about SQL, read it.
