How to create a "folded waterfall" diagram in R?

I managed to find several packages for creating a waterfall diagram in R, which looks like this: But I could not find a way to create graphs folded into the waterfall that look like this:

A workaround is to use a stacked bar chart. But this is not an elegant way. So, I wanted to know if there is a better way to create a table of folded waterfalls in R.
