Vim and .vimrc will not open after modifying .vimrc. Must open

How do I force my .vimrc to open?

I recently made a modification that wasn’t exactly what I did, but I think I accidentally typed “x” in my plugins while trying to close. Suddenly, neither vim nor .vimrc opens.

I get a pause, some blank lines, and then the terminal just returns to the default command line.

Use vim -u NONE .vimrcto skip reading all startup files and modify .vimrc.
