How to fake / proxy a class in Python

I wrote some shell that has another object as an attribute. This shell proxies (forwards) all attribute requests with __getattr__and __setattr__to the object stored as an attribute. What else do I need to provide my proxy so that the shell looks like a wrapped class under normal circumstances?

I suppose I need to fix things like inheritance, perhaps __repr__... What else do I need to take care of and how can I inherit to instanceof()work?

EDIT: My attempt to create a proxy function, however, since I do not understand the recipe completely, it fails :(

setattr_=object.__setattr__
getattr_=object.__getattribute__

    __slots__=["_func", "_params", "_kwargs", "_obj", "_loaded", "__weakref__"]

        setattr_(self, "_obj", None)
