Mozilla firefox, sets the default encoding for UTF8

How to set the default Mozilla firefox character encoding for UTF8, so if the meta tag for setting the encoding is missing on the html page, is the character encoding interpreted as UTF8?

In firefox, open a new tab> go to about:configand click on the confirmation button

Find the key intl.charset.fallback.utf8_for_fileand double-click it to set its valuetrue

This solution works with standalone html files that do not contain the charset meta tag.
