IOS 10 currently supports both 32-bit and 64-bit binaries. Come iOS 11 only 64-bit binaries will be accepted.
We need to find out how many of our users are currently running on 32-bit hardware, however iTunesConnect Analytics does not break devices into:
- Device model or
- Processor architecture
The only crashes are the device family or the iOS version. It is not granular enough.
- The iPhone device family can be iPhone 5c or iPhone 6. The former is 32-bit, the latter is 64-bit.
- Similarly, the “iOS version 10” metric can be iPhone 5c or iPhone 6. The first one is 32-bit, the last is 64-bit.
How can we identify current active devices that are on a 32-bit architecture and become outdated?
Update:
I repeat, as this continues: we are exploring a way to determine this using Apple Analytics or other developer tools.
Obviously, integrating a third-party SDK or even our own code for detecting and sending reports is quite simple, but a bit late in the game.
