I recently launched the ASP.NET core web application (WebAPI) using the Entity Framework Core to exchange data with a database, and everything was very smooth while I ran the application on my laptop in my dev environment.
To host the web application and the Im database using the Ubuntu server (04.16.3 LTS). I installed the latest sql server (Microsoft SQL Server 2017 (RC2) - 14.0.900.75 (X64)) and I can connect to it from my application just fine while the application is running on Windows. However, using the same code and connection string on Ubuntu, all requests are just timeout. I get the following output (exception / stacktrace):
