The sonarqube 5.1 temp / tmp directory is populating - how can I find out what can be deleted?

I found many posts that indicate that these files will be cleaned up in a week (my temp / tmp has files older than one month). Some say that restarting sonarqube will clear them (does not work for me to restart the application due to continuous integration). Some reports claim that this is fixed in the next issue of the sonar and sonarquist.

How to find out (finally) when it is safe to delete contents from the temp / tmp directory without affecting the analysis? There is currently 31 GB of data, and I really need to get that space back!

any pointers are welcome!
