Kubernetes: setting up a custom infuxdb receiver to work with heapster in the kube-system namespace on GKE

I need to configure heapster to send kubernetes cluster metrics to our user dux server. To do this, I tried to change the deployment of heapster in the namespace of kube-systems, but after a while the deployment will return to its original state.
I am using GKE, major version 1.5.7 and node version 1.5.6.

Custom add-on configuration is currently not supported in GKE. Any changes to Heapster's configuration will be canceled by default using addon-manager .

If the default Heapster configuration does not work for you, try disabling it. To do this, you need to disable Cloud Monitoring and Horizontal Pod Autoscaler. Please keep in mind that without Heapster, by default, you will not receive metrics in Stackdriver or you will not be able to use HPA.

Having two copies of the Heapster is also wonderful. You can create your own instance of Heapster with the necessary configuration. Here is an example deployment .
